Kids With Colds
Use Granny V's tried and true method- feed a cold, starve a fever. If your child has a cold, make sure they get plenty of food and liquid. No antibiotics-it's a virus! Use only simple medications for the discomfort and realize that each virus has a specific life span. Let it run its course. Seek medical help if it seems to be going too long or has moved from cold symptoms to bronchitis, sinus headaches or other more complex symptoms. No need to keep children home from school with a cold but send them to school with their own tissues and hand sanitizer!
